Memory Verse: "And as he sat upon the mount of olives, the disciples came unto him privately saying, tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and the end of the world?” Matthew 24:3.

In the last study, signs in the Heavens, I put in the great earthquake, which goes in this lesson, Signs In the Earth. But I added it to the other one because it was the first sign, and it came before these signs in the Heaven happened. I do want to add a statement, it tells what causes earthquakes as well as volcanoes, and there are places where steam or fire comes up out of the ground.

"At his time (The Flood) immense forests were buried. These have since been changed to coal, forming the extensive coal beds that now exist and also yielding large quantities of oil. The coal and oil frequently ignite and burn beneath the surface of the earth. Thus rocks are heated, Limestone is burned, and Iron Ore melted. The action of the water upon the lime adds furry to the intense heat, and causes earthquakes, volcanoes, and fiery issues. As the fire and water come in contact with ledges of Rock and Ore, there are heavy explosions underground, which sound like muffled thunder….. These wonderful manifestations will be more and more frequent and terrible the Second Coming of Christ and the end of the world, as signs of its speedy destruction.” Patriarchs and prophets Page 108

1. What did Jesus first tell them? "Take heed that no man ____________ you." Matthew 24:4

2. Who will try to deceive you? Is it those who don’t believe in God or those who hate God? No! "For many shall come in my ____________, Saying I am ___________; and shall _______________ many." Matthew 24:5 There will be those who say they are Christ. For this reason we need to understand better how Christ will come, and then no man can deceive us. “We don’t want to be deceived in this matter. There will be many false prophets. Matthew 24:11

3. Another sign we see in Matthew 24:6,7 IS "And ye shall hear of _________ and ___________ of __________: See that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Vs. 7 For nations shall rise__________ ___________, and _______________against________________: and there shall be _____________, and _____________, and_____________ in divers places.” We see more unrest among the nations every day. There are many that die in our world every day. In some countries many die from famine. What about pestilences, what are they? The dictionary says , It is a contagious or infectious epidemic disease that is devastating. Could AIDS come under this, in many places? Like Africa, thousands are dying every day from it. Our county is afraid a small pox epidemic will brake out. The news reports say, there are more earthquakes every year than the year before. Diverse places mean different places.

4. We see all nations even the small ones these days trying to get nuclear weapons. What does The Bible say about this? Joel 3:9, 10 Read verse 10 “Beat their plowshares into swords. And their pruning hooks into spears.” '(The peaceful countries are now preparing for battle.) Let the weak (The small nation) say, I am ____________." Look at Iran, what is going on there today?

5. What does Daniel have to say about the last days? Daniel 12:4 "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall _________ to and _________, and ______________ shall be ______________." This must refer to increase of knowledge in general, in the arts and sciences, but also in The Word of God. For the book of Daniel was sealed and closed until the time of the end, when it was to be unsealed. Now we can understand it and see the fullment which marked out the history of our world. Look what the knowledge of the printing press did for the world. Look at the knowledge of travel, as well as the space race. 6. James 5:1-3 (Read) Tells us something else that is going on. Verse 3, Last part. "...Ye have _____________ _____________ Treasure for the last days.” Never have we seen more of this, than we do today. How do many get their wealth? The Same as in the old times

    Exploitation - Job 24:2-4.

    Dishonest Measures- Proverbs 20:10

Falsifying- Amos 8:4, 5 (Get rich from the poor)

Withholding what is due- Jeremiah 22:13

Extortion to God and man - Ezekiel 22:12

Labor that is highly organized into unions. They shut out the little man so he can not work at his trade. They care not for others. They are there to protect their own interest. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. This is not God’s plan. James 5:4 Says, The laboring man is oppressed, there is fraud.

7. How many are entitled to a share in the natural wealth of the world? "Moreover the __________ of the ___________ is for all...” Ecclesiastes 5:9.

8. What does Paul say will happen before Christ comes? 2 Thessalonians 2:1 – 3. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let _____ _______ ___________ _______ by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that ______ _____ ______ be __________, the son of perdition;

9. We need to know what we need to be on the look out for, so we will not be deceived. What are some things we can look for? 2 Thessalonians 2:4 “Who opposeth and _________ __________ ________ all that is called __________, or that is worshipped; so that he ________ ________ ____________ in the _________ of God, ___________ ___________ that _____ is ____________." This sounds like a false god or the antichrist.

10. Paul said in 2 Thessalonians 2:7 That this “Mystery of iniquity” was all ready at work in his time. In verse 8 “And then shall that _______ be ________, whom the Lord ______ consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall _______ with the __________ of his _________:” What ever it is, it must not be good, for God is going to destroy this man of sin when He comes. Verse 9 “Even him, whose coming is ______ the _______ _______ ________ with all power and signs and lying wonders,” Notice in this verse it has power and signs and lying wonders.

11. In Jesus’ Words in Matthew 24:6 Does He say all things will get better? No! “And ye shall hear of ______ and ________ of _______: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the _______ _____ ______ ________.” What else does He say will happen? Matthew 24:7 “For nation shall _______ against _________, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.” 12. What will happen to God’s People? Matthew 24:9 “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall ______ _______: and ______ ______ ______ _______ of _______ _______ for my name’s sake.” Christians in all nations will be hated. And are already in many countries. Verse 10 “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall _______ one _________.” 13. What does John say, will be again in these last day? This will be during the 7 last plagues. Revelation 16:14 "For they are the ____________ of ___________, (Doin what?) ___________ ___________, (Why?) Which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the __________ world, to gather them to the battle of the great day of God Almighty.” This is talking about worship to Satan. Spiritualism will increase, you can read in Revelation 13:4,8. How he (The Dragon) will try to get all to worship him. This is not new, there was a lot of spiritualism in the Old Testament. Read Isaiah 8:19; 1 Samuel 28:8, 9 About their familiar spirits.

14. Luke 21:26 “Men’s ________ __________ them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” When I read this I think of what happened on September 11, 01. But we don’t have to fear when we see these things happen. Like the terrorist that killed so many people.

15. When we see this thing taking place we don’t need to be afraid. Read Psalms 91, this is God’s promise to us. Jesus will care for those who love and serve Him. Psalms 91:10, 11. “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any _________ come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to _______ ______ in all thy ways.”

What a Promise to Remember.

Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows…. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes…. But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be… Matthew 24:4-28
